Privacy
Short version: we keep what the site needs to work, we do not sell it, and you can take it with you or delete it.
What we keep
- Your account: username, email address, a scrambled (hashed) password, your bio, profile link and photo.
- What you do on the site: your posts and replies, likes and dislikes, reposts, follows, bookmarks, blocks and mutes, and your notifications.
- Temporary security records: your network (IP) address is recorded briefly to limit sign-ups, logins and other abuse, and is cleared after about a day. Sign-in links and codes are stored in hashed form and expire.
Posts, replies, usernames, bios and profile photos are public. Your email address is never shown to other people.
How we use it
- Your email is used only for account messages: confirming your address, password resets, login codes you turn on, and security notices. No marketing.
- We do not sell your data or use advertising trackers.
- Moderators can see reports and the content reported.
Cookies and storage
A session cookie keeps you logged in. Your light or dark mode choice is saved in your browser. Nothing is used for tracking.
Your choices
- See and download your data, change your email or password, or delete your account from Settings → Account. Deleting removes your profile, posts, replies, reactions and photo.
- Reposts of your posts by others disappear when you delete the original.
Who runs it
The site is operated by its owners and built by Modularity Networks. Backups of the database are kept for a short time for safety.
